BECOME A MEMBER   |   COVENANT

Rooted in the truth of God's word...

To accentuate the beauty of a growing commitment to God and one another, our members sign an agreement known as the Church Covenant. This covenant provides an objective means of measuring a person's integrity to their membership commitment. Based on biblical principles, the covenant provides a means by which every member can mutually agree on ways to honor God, the Bible and fellow believers.

Having been led, as I believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior, and on the profession of my faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, I do now in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with this church, as one body in Christ. I commit, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk with my brothers and sisters in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations. I also commit to maintain family and secret devotion; to religiously educate my children; to seek the salvation of my family and acquaintances, to walk like Christ in the world; to be honest in my dealings, faithful in my engagements, and exemplary in my conduct; to avoid all tattling, backbiting and excessive anger; to abstain from the abuse of drugs and alcohol and to abstain from premarital, extramarital or same sex relationships, being zealous in my efforts to advance my Savior's kingdom. I further commit to watch over my brothers and sisters in brotherly love; to remember them in prayer; to help them in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and obedient to the rules of my Savior. I commit that when I move from this place, I will as soon as possible unite with some other church, where I can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word.
